In this lushly illustrated fable by an acclaimed artist, join a determined young squirrel on a woodland adventure where she discovers how a tiny acorn could hold the secret of survival for her family.

Fern loves playing with her brothers around her family’s cozy old oak tree, hunting for acorns, and burying them for winter. But when a fierce storm shatters her woodland home, where will the squirrels live now?

With danger still looming above, Fern sets out on a brave journey to find shelter, making her way through an underground maze to the wisest, oldest oak in the forest. Instead of a new home, this ancient Mother Tree offers Fern a single, ordinary acorn. Can one small seed hold the key to rebuilding everything Fern holds dear?

An enchanting tale of resilience and the unseen connections that bind us all, The Acorn’s Gift inspires us to see nature as a living, giving community—and reminds families that even the most difficult changes can lead to beautiful new beginnings.
