The Adventures of Nanny Piggins takes on classic middle grade elements (three motherless children, a loving new nanny, and a string of thrilling adventures), but with a fat dollop of absurd, ridiculous humor (which, if it had a flavor, would be chocolate).
When Mr. Green, a stingy widowed dad with three children he can't be bothered with, decides to find a nanny for his progeny, he puts out a "Nanny Wanted" sign on his lawn. Of course, tight-fisted Mr. Green is loathe to spend money, and the children remain unsupervised until his ad is answered by a pig. Yes, a pig. An ex-circus flying pig, as a matter of fact. And the nanny position turns out to be the perfect escape for Sarah Piggins, the glamorous, confident, suprisingly manipulative, and well-dressed pig on the run!
Nanny Piggins is as delightfully playful as Amelia Bedelia and as timeless as Mary Poppins. If Miss Piggle Wiggle was a diva (and an ex-circus flying pig), she would be Nanny Piggins.
This book will have adults and kids alike laughing out loud and rooting for this feisty porcine nanny and her three lovable charges.
