In this empowering and hopeful memoir, Love on the Spectrum stars Lise Smith and Connor Tomlinson share their unfiltered personal experience to provide a roadmap for neurodiverse families.

When Love on the Spectrum star Connor Tomlinson was diagnosed with autism at age five, his mother Lise felt the life she imagined for her son transform before her eyes. She’d worked with neurodivergent children for several years and knew the long road ahead of them well. But she knew how much love she had to give, and believed that Connor could accomplish much more than ableist doctors and acquaintances expected if she threw all her energy behind him.

In LOVE YA, MEAN IT, Connor and Lise bring readers into their world, sharing their own experiences so that readers might better understand what they’ve been through and what an autism diagnosis could mean for their own loved ones. From Lise’s professional experience working with neurodivergent children, to how Connor’s diagnosis shaped both their trajectories. this book provides both poignant and joyful insights into what it means to be a neurodiverse family.

About the Author

Connor Tomlinson is the sharp, funny, fan-favorite from Netflix’s Emmy-winning Love on the Spectrum. A young adult living with Level 1 Autism, he brings light and joy to his large blended family and to audiences with his dry wit, well-timed sarcasm, and thoughtful observation. When he isn’t reading, watching films, or practicing a new phrase, he’s hanging with his Pomeranian Coco.

Lise Smith is the warm, witty mother of four that viewers met on Love on the Spectrum. She now co-hosts the candid podcast “Talk to Me Sis,” created to be the voice she wished she could have heard twenty years ago.
