About the Author

Kathy Leonard Czepiel grew up in New York’s Hudson River Valley, where she began her writing career as a local reporter. The recipient of a creative writing fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, Kathy has published short fiction, essays, and a novel, A Violet Season; taught high school and college English; and raised two daughters with her husband, Brad, her partner on tandem bike rides and in life. She works in land conservation at the environmental organization Save the Sound in the Long Island Sound watershed.
