Julia Skinner is the award-winning author of Essential Food Preserving, The Fermentation Oracle, and Our Fermented Lives. An award-winning food writer and food historian, Skinner is the owner of Root, a fermentation and food history company, Culinary Curiosity School, which offers unique and playful culinary courses and Roots + Branches, providing writing and creativity coaching. She has a PhD in library and information science and divides her time between Atlanta, Georgia, and Cork, Ireland.
