David Kennedy

About the Author

David Kennedy is a creative strategist, writer, and close advisor to founder-led companies and cultural projects. A Miami native, former top-ranked professional surfer, and devoted practitioner of yoga since 1980, Kennedy has spent his life translating lessons from the ocean, the body, and inner practice into business, brand, and culture. His work has helped shape purpose-built companies, festivals, teachers, and movements across the outdoor, action sports, wellness, apparel, and transformational culture spaces, including prAna, Wanderlust, and the Miami Festival of Light. His work with prAna earned recognition from the EPA and the Department of Energy for innovations in environmental stewardship. Today, Kennedy works closely with highly creative founders and CEOs at the moment when the work is alive, complex, and still taking form. He helps clarify the signal, shape the story, and give language to what is trying to emerge without separating it from its source. As co-author of Ecotopia, Kennedy worked alongside Evan Marks and The Ecology Center as a brother, mentor, thought partner, and keeper of language, helping translate the work without taking it away from the person and place it came from.
