About the Author

Charles Hood has been to 70 countries plus the South Pole. He has been a bird guide in Africa, a Fulbright scholar,  a research fellow with the Nevada Museum of Art, and a prize-winning poet (studying under Louise Gluck  and Charles Wright). He hopes to soon spot his 1000th species of mammal in the wild, which would make him one of only a dozen people worldwide to do so. He has published over 500 natural history images, curated eight art shows, and exhibited photos and mixed media in fifty group shows. He lives in the Mojave Desert.
