About the Author

Benjamin Vogt is the author of the best-selling Prairie Up: An Introduction to Natural Garden Design, and A New Garden Ethic: Cultivating Defiant Compassion for an Uncertain Future. He owns the design firm Prairie Up (formerly Monarch Gardens), which has converted over 100 lawns, and speaks internationally on environmental psychology and natural garden design using native plants. Benjamin’s design work has appeared in The American Gardener, Better Homes and Gardens, Dwell, The Globe and Mail, Fine Gardening, Horticulture, Midwest Living, The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and the Washington Post.
