Learn how to use the safest, most effective herbs and natural practices to address common pregnancy ailments—from anemia and constipation to anxiety and insomnia.

Combining decades of clinical experience with scientific data and folk wisdom, Dr. Mary Bove and clinical herbalist Mischa Schuler empower you to safely and effectively use herbal preparations before, during, and after pregnancy.

Organized by trimester, this comprehensive guide shows readers how to:
  • Use herbs to treat a wide range of concerns in every stage of pregnancy—including anxiety, fatigue, constipation, hemorrhoids, heartburn, and insomnia.
  • Make herbal preparations and nourishing recipes with step-by-step instructions for preconception wellness, a healthy pregnancy, and postpartum care.
  • Prepare for the birth day with time-tested strategies, such as an herbal smudge, relaxing labor bath infusion, and a luscious lavender and skullcap belly rub.
At the end of the book, readers will find in-depth profiles of 33 botanicals that are imperative for supporting people from preconception through postpartum.
