This sweepstakes (“Promotion”) may only be entered in or from the 50 United States and the District of Columbia.

1. How to Enter. To enter, visit https://www.hachettebookgroup.com/landing-page/mothers-day-sweepstakes-2/ (“Website“) to fill out and submit the entry form available thereon (the “Entry Form”). All entrants must have a valid email address. Entrants must enter all items in the Entry Form.

Each entrant will get one entry per person/household. No automated entry devices and/or programs permitted. All entries become the sole and exclusive property of the Sponsor (as defined below), and receipt of entries will not be acknowledged or returned. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, stolen, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible, misdirected, technically corrupted, or garbled entries, which will be disqualified, or for problems of any kind when submitting an Entry Form, whether mechanical, human, or electronic. Only fully completed Entry Forms are eligible. Proof of submission will not be deemed to be proof of receipt by Sponsor.

2. Eligibility. Participation open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, who are 21 years or older and of the legal age of majority in their jurisdiction as of the Promotion Start Date (as defined below). Void outside of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia and wherever prohibited, taxed, or restricted by law. Employees, officers, and directors of (i) Hachette Book Group, Inc. (“Sponsor“), Meliá Hotels International S.A. (“Meliá”), Matt’s Flights LLC (“Matt’s Flights”), or BloomsyBox.com, LLC (“BloomsyBox”, and together with Meliá and Matt’s Flights, each, a “Prize Provider” and collectively, the “Prize Providers”); (ii) Lana Williams, Teresa Woodard, or Ellen Zachos (collectively, “Authors”), and (iii) any of Sponsor’s, any Prize Provider’s, or any Author’s parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, partners, advertising and promotion agencies, and manufacturers or distributors of Promotion materials (together with Sponsor, the Prize Providers, and the Authors, collectively, “Promotion Entities”), as well as the respective immediate family members (e.g., parents, children, siblings, or spouses) or members of the same household (whether related or not) of any employee, officer, or director of Sponsor, any Prize Provider, any Author, or any other Promotion Entity, are not eligible to enter. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply.

3. Promotion Start/End Dates. The Promotion begins 12:01 AM Eastern Time (“ET”) on or about May 6, 2025 (“Promotion Start Date”) and ends at 11:59 PM ET on or about May 19, 2025.

4. Random Drawing/Odds. On or about May 20, 2025 Sponsor will select one potential winner in a random drawing from all eligible entries. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received for the drawing.

5. Prize; Special Terms and Conditions Relating to the Prize. One (1) Prize (as defined below) is available. Each eligible entrant is entered for a chance to win:

  • One (1) five (5) day/four (4) night stay (the “Stay”) at Meliá Casa Maya Cancun (the “Resort”) for the winning entrant (the “Winner”) and three guests of the Winner’s choosing (the “Guests”). The room provided for the Stay will comfortably sleep up to two (2) persons thirteen (13) years of age or older (including the Winner) and two (2) children twelve (12) years of age or younger, and the Winner may only include in the Stay Guests who can comfortably sleep in such room as specified in this sentence. The Stay includes four (4) nights all-inclusive accommodations at the Resort (single room, quad occupancy, room category and location at Meliá’s discretion), meals, select alcoholic (for the Winner and any Guest who is at least 18 years of age or older and of legal drinking age in Mexico at the time the Winner is chosen) and non-alcoholic drinks, room taxes and resort fees, gratuities, non-motorized water sports, WiFi, and minibar services. Winner must complete the Stay by May 11, 2026, or the Stay will be forfeited. The Stay must be booked a minimum of 120 days prior to arrival for travel between January and April and a minimum of 30 days prior to arrival for travel between May and December. Travel and accommodations are subject to availability and blackout dates, including, but not limited to, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve holidays and dates of certain special events (i.e., Resort buyouts). No refund or compensation to Winner will be made in the event of the cancellation or delay of Winner’s or any Guest’s flight to the Resort. All expenses and incidental travel costs not expressly stated above, including, but not limited to, IRS taxes, duty taxes, ground transportation, airfare, spa treatments, excursions, telephone calls, discretionary premium meal service and specialty wine list, extra night(s), extra guest(s), and other costs, fees, or surcharges, will be the sole responsibility of the Winner. Winner and Guests are solely responsible for obtaining valid passports and any other documents necessary for travel to Mexico. Travel restrictions, conditions, and limitations may apply, including because of, but not limited to, pandemics, epidemics, travel bans and alerts, closures, delays, acts of God, weather, labor strikes, and any other force majeure event. The Stay will be initially awarded as a redemption certificate with instructions to contact Alliance Connection, Inc. (“AC”) on behalf of Meliá when Winner is ready to book travel, and such redemption certificate is not redeemable for cash, is non-transferable, and cannot be extended. AC will not replace any lost, mutilated, expired, destroyed, or stolen tickets, travel vouchers, or redemption certificates. Winner will not receive difference between actual and approximate retail value (“ARV”) of the Stay (ARV: U.S. $1,900). If Winner chooses to travel without Guests or any Guest they are entitled to travel with, accommodations and other elements of the Stay will be modified to be suitable for actual number of travelers, and, in such case, Winner will not receive any alternate or substitute prize to make up for the value of the Stay attributed to such Guests Winner was entitled to include in the Stay but did not. The Stay is offered AS IS, and neither Sponsor nor Meliá makes any representation or warranty as to the Stay’s fitness for its intended purpose;
  • A $500 PayPal credit or Visa gift card from Matt’s Flights (the “Flight Credit”) (ARV: U.S. $500). AC will provide Winner with the Flight Credit on behalf of Matt’s Flights and use reasonable efforts to connect Winner to Matt’s Flights so the Winner can redeem the Flight Credit towards airfare to travel to the Resort in connection with the Stay, if Winner so chooses; provided, that, neither Sponsor nor AC has any liability to Winner if Winner is unable to ultimately connect with Matt’s Flights. The Winner acknowledges that airfare is not included as part of the Prize (as defined below), and it is the Winner’s responsibility to arrange for their and their Guests’ airfare to and from the Resort in connection with the Stay;
  • A three-month flower subscription to BloomsyBox (ARV: U.S. $300); and
  • One (1) hardcover copy of The Container Garden Recipe Book by Lana Williams (ARV: U.S. $30), one (1) hardcover copy of Garden to the Max by Teresa Woodard (ARV: U.S. $40), and one (1) hardcover copy of Mythic Plants by Ellen Zachos (ARV: U.S. $22) (collectively, the “Books”).

The Stay, the Flight Credit, the Flower Subscription, and the Books are collectively the “Prize.” The total ARV for the Prize is U.S. $2,792.

7. Notification. The potential winner selected will be notified via email on or about May 20, 2025 and may be required to sign and return, where legal, an Affidavit of Eligibility and Compliance with Official Rules and Release of Liability (“Winner Eligibility Documents“) within seven (7) days of notification they have been selected to receive the Prize. All Guests may also be required to sign and return Winner Eligibility Documents to participate in the Stay, and, if any Guest is under the legal age of majority in their jurisdiction, their parent and/or legal guardian will be required to sign and return Winner Eligibility Documents on such Guest’s behalf for such Guest to be permitted to participate in the Stay. If any potential winner cannot be contacted within five (5) days of Sponsor’s first notification attempt that such potential winner has been selected to receive the Prize, if any notification attempt is returned as undeliverable, if any potential winner rejects the Prize, or in the event such potential winner is not in compliance with these Official Rules, the potential winner will forfeit the Prize, and an alternate potential winner will be selected from all remaining eligible entries. If the potential winner forfeits the Prize, they are not entitled to any compensation or alternative prizes.

8. Conditions. Participation in the Promotion constitutes each entrant’s permission for Sponsor to use their first name and city and state. By participating, all entrants, the Winner, and Guests (or, if any Guest is under the legal age of majority in their jurisdiction, their parent and/or legal guardian on such Guest’s behalf) agree to release and hold harmless Sponsor, each Prize Provider, each Author, each other Promotion Entity, and AC, and the representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers, and directors of each of Sponsor, each Prize Provider, each Author, each other Promotion Entity, and AC, as applicable (collectively, “Released Entities“), from any and all liability for loss, harm, damage, injury, cost, or expense whatsoever, including, without limitation, property damage, personal injury, and/or death, which may occur in connection with (i) preparation for, travel to, or participation in the Promotion, (ii) possession, acceptance, use, and/or misuse of the Prize or participation in any Prize-related activity, and (iii) claims based on publicity rights, defamation, invasion of privacy, and merchandise delivery. There is no purchase or sales presentation required to participate. A purchase does not increase odds of winning. All information that any entrant submits to Sponsor in connection with their entry form must be truthful and accurate and must not infringe any other person’s privacy rights.

9. Additional Terms. In case of dispute as to the identity of any entrant, the entry will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at time of entry. “Authorized Account Holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g., business or educational institution, etc.) responsible for assigning email addresses or the domain associated with the submitted email address. Any potential winner may be requested to provide Sponsor with proof that such winner is the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the winning entry. Any attempted form of entry other than as set forth above is prohibited; no automatic, programmed, robotic, or similar means of entry are permitted. Neither any Promotion Entity nor AC is responsible for (i) technical, hardware, software, telephone, mail, or other communications malfunctions, errors, or failures of any kind; (ii) lost or unavailable network connections, website, Internet, or Internet service provider availability; and/or (iii) unauthorized human intervention, traffic congestion, incomplete, or inaccurate capture of entry information (regardless of cause), or failed, incomplete, garbled, jumbled, or delayed computer transmissions, which may limit one’s ability to enter the Promotion, including any injury or damage to any person’s computer relating to or resulting from participating in this Promotion or downloading any materials in this Promotion. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, extend, or suspend this Promotion should (in its sole discretion) virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention, fraud, or other causes beyond its control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, or proper conduct of the Promotion. In such case, Sponsor will select a potential winner from all eligible entries received prior to and/or after (if appropriate) the action taken by Sponsor. Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds, in its sole discretion, to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Promotion or Website. Sponsor may prohibit an entrant from participating in the Promotion or winning the Prize if, in its sole discretion, it determines that said entrant is attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the Promotion by (x) cheating, hacking, deception, or committing any other unfair playing practices (including the use of automated quick entry programs) or (y) intending to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any other entrants or any representatives of Sponsor, any Prize Provider, any Author, any other Promotion Entity, or AC.

CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE PROMOTION MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

10. Limitation of Liability; Disclaimer of Warranties. IN NO EVENT WILL THE RELEASED ENTITIES BE RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OR LOSSES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF ACCESS TO THE PROMOTION AND/OR USE OF THE PRIZE. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE RELEASED ENTITIES’ TOTAL LIABILITY TO ANY ENTRANT, WINNER, AND/OR GUEST FOR ALL DAMAGES, LOSSES, OR CAUSES OF ACTION ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THIS PROMOTION EXCEED $10. WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, THIS PROMOTION AND THE PRIZE (AND ANY COMPONENT THEREOF) ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. SOME JURISDICTIONS MAY NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

11. Use of Data. Sponsor will be collecting personal data about entrants through any such entrant’s submission of an Entry Form. Please review the Sponsor’s privacy policy at https://www.hachettebookgroup.com/terms-and-policies/privacy-policy/ (“Sponsor Privacy Policy”). By participating in the Promotion, each entrant hereby agrees that Sponsor may (i) collect and use their personal information collected through such entrant’s submission of an Entry Form in accordance with the Sponsor Privacy Policy; and (ii) share such personal information with each Prize Provider for such Prize Provider’s marketing purposes. Each entrant acknowledges that they have read and accepted the Sponsor Privacy Policy. EACH ENTRANT ALSO UNDERSTANDS THAT BY ENTERING THIS PROMOTION, ENTRANT WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY SUBSCRIBED TO SPONSOR AND PRIZE PROVIDER NEWSLETTERS AND WILL RECEIVE EMAILS FROM SPONSOR CONCERNING AUTHORS AND BOOKS, EXCLUSIVE OFFERS, AND OFFERS TO ENTER OTHER PROMOTIONS SPONSORED BY SPONSOR. EACH ENTRANT CAN UNSUBSCRIBE TO SUCH NEWSLETTERS AND EMAILS AT ANY TIME BY FOLLOWING THE DIRECTIONS ON THE NEWSLETTERS AND EMAILS TO “UNSUBSCRIBE”. EACH ENTRANT UNDERSTANDS THAT SUBSCRIBING OR UNSUBSCRIBING WILL HAVE NO EFFECT WHATSOEVER ON ENTRANT’S CHANCES OF WINNING IN THE PROMOTION. Each entrant acknowledges and agrees that Sponsor is not liable for any Prize Provider’s use of such entrant’s personal data, except as required under applicable law or pursuant to the Sponsor Privacy Policy.
