Ivy Givens publishes a wide range of titles in science and mathematics at Basic. She is particularly drawn to emerging ideas on fundamental topics in these areas and narrative works in the life sciences. Before joining Basic, Ivy worked at Mariner Books, where her list included Tom Zeller Jr.’s The Headache, The Forgotten Sense by Jonas Olofsson, and the forthcoming Chain Reaction by Ijeoma Uchegbu. She began her editorial career at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, where she worked with such enduring authors as Tim O’Brien, Alison Bechdel, and Adam Hochschild.
