HBG Big News This Week: July 30-August 3, 2018

Following is a recap of major news at Hachette Book Group for the week of July 30-August 3, 2018:

Bestseller news: HBG has taken the top slot on the Audio Nonfiction (Monthly) list this week! Calypso by David Sedaris (Little, Brown) moves into the #1 position on the list dated August 12. HBG has 12 titles on the list overall. HBG client publishers have nine titles on the August 12 list. HBG also has 15 titles on the USA Today bestseller list dated August 2. See the full list here.

Dagger Award nominations: Two Little, Brown authors were named to shortlists for the Crime Writers’ Association 2018 Dagger Awards: Attica Locke’s Bluebird, Bluebird was shortlisted for the Gold and CWA Ian Fleming Steel Dagger award, and IQ by Joe Ide, appears on the shortlist for the CWA John Creasey (New Blood) Dagger award. NAIBA Week: On Wednesday, HBG welcomed members of the New Atlantic Independent Booksellers Association to our New York office to meet HBG staff and authors. More than 55 booksellers attended, and they were treated to a welcome from Michael Pietsch; tours of the office; and panels and with HBG publishers, customer service, publicity and marketing, and authors from various publishing divisions. Earlier this week, a group of HBG editors and publishers also visited three NAIBA bookstores in Connecticut to get to know the stores and the staff.
