W. R. Greg

About the Author

William Rathbone Greg (1809-1881) was born in Manchester, England. An essayist at heart, he was educated at the University of Edinburgh, managed a mill, and joined the struggle for free trade. He abandoned business for writing in 1850; his works include Creed of Christendom and Rocks Ahead—a metaphysical musing. He was also Comptroller of the Her Majesty’s Stationery Office.
