About the Author

Rev. Dr. James MacKinnon (1860–1945) was a Scottish author and academic. He was the Regius Professor of Ecclesiastical History at the University of Edinburgh from 1908 to 1930. He was also a lecturer in History at the University of St. Andrews, Queen Margaret College, and the University of Glasgow. His works include The Growth and Decline of the French Monarchy and Luther and the Reformation.
