Derek S. Reveron

About the Author

Derek Reveron is a professor of national security affairs at the U.S. Naval War College. He specializes in strategy development, non-state security challenges, and defense policy. He has authored or edited eleven books and is a faculty affiliate at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard Kennedy School. His recent books include: Exporting Security: International Engagement, Security Cooperation, and the Changing Face of the US Military and The Oxford Handbook of U.S. National Security. He teaches courses on human security, grand strategy, foreign policy analysis, and cybersecurity. He received an MA in political science and a Ph.D. in public policy analysis from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Kathleen A. Mahoney-Norris is professor emeritus in national security studies at the U.S. Air Force Air Command and Staff College. She was also an adjunct family member at the Air War College, teaching electives and the Latin American Regional Security Studies course, including leading student trips to the region. She continues to teach online and develop national/international security-focused curricula for military officers and civilian defense professionals for the Air Force, in addition to serving as a consultant for several online universities. She received a Ph.D. in international studies from the University of Denver and an MA in international relations from the University of Southern California.
