Amanda de Beaufort

About the Author

Amanda de Beaufort is a botanical dyer and educator whose practice is rooted in the sustainable and harmonious cultivation of nature. Driven by a belief in the power of handcrafted items and their ability to tell a unique story, Amanda founded her brand Dye Kween in 2017 to provide a contemporary counterpoint to the mass-produced products that flood our lives. Amanda’s work has been featured in The New York Times, T Magazine, Domino, Gardenista, and Blumenhaus. She has collaborated with Rag & Bone, Anthropologie, Terrain, Free People, and Freeman’s Sporting Club on special product collections. Originally from Alaska, Amanda attended art school at the Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon, where she majored in photography and printmaking before relocating to New York City in 2004. For more than two decades, Amanda has worked in art, design, and architecture communications in addition to her natural dye work. The Dye Kween studio and headquarters are now located in Maplewood, New Jersey, where Amanda also lives with her husband, two children, and cat.
