Michael Goldsmith Named Vice President, Executive Director of Publicity at Little, Brown and Company

New York, NY (September 28, 2026) — Hachette Book Group (HBG) announced today that Michael Goldsmith has been named Vice President, Executive Director of Publicity at Little, Brown and Company beginning on October 13. The appointment was made by President and Publisher of Little, Brown and Company, Sally Kim, to whom Goldsmith will report. 

In this new role, Goldsmith will lead the overall media strategy and public relations department to secure high-profile coverage for Little, Brown and Company’s front and backlist titles. Goldsmith will partner closely with the editorial, marketing, and sales departments to ensure a unified promotional push from acquisition through publication. Goldsmith will manage the Little, Brown and Company publicity team as they design publicity plans, high-impact launch strategies, and facilitate media relations to deliver top-tier press coverage. 

Until recently, Goldsmith served as Vice President, Senior Director of Publicity for Doubleday and Pantheon, imprints of the Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group at Penguin Random House, where he has worked since 2014. Golsmith led the publicity launch campaigns for a great number of bestselling and prizewinning books, across many different genres and categories, including Percival Everett’s James, Patrick Radden Keefe’s London Falling, and Colson Whitehead’s The Underground Railroad and The Nickel Boys. He has collaborated actively and extensively with partners across all facets of the national media, book club, and retail bookselling sectors, helping to bring widespread attention to a mix of acclaimed commercial and literary fiction and illustrious nonfiction titles.
