I met him at Disneyworld while I was on a conference trip. I still remember the first time he spoke to me. I was with my friend waiting in line to get on the ride. He was with a group of his friend and asked if he can step in front of us in line so he can meet up with them. Of course, we said yes. We started talking and got to know one another a little bit more as the line was super long. We stayed in contact for a while after we left, but stopped suddenly about 2 years ago. He's in my mind often and I always wonder could there be more?

I wish you a safe journey back to California to be closer to your grandson. My heart aches to not have you close by but I do know how much you love and adore your grandbaby and want to spend every precious moment with him. I'm so happy that you are taking this step because, as we always remind each other, God guides us to our thoughts but it is our choices that we make on which Path to walk in. Our dreams will continue to intertwine with follow-up phone calls to tell our stories and enjoy giggles by comparing the similarities of our dreams. I love you Sistah.

I haven't read the book yet (but will soon), but thought I'd submit a letter anyway since I know it's not going to anyone in particular. The life of an empty nester/army mom. It's a difficult life. I've been separated/divorced for almost 5 years. In that time, my daughter was married (and is now expecting a baby). My son has joined the army. While I'm more proud of him than I had ever imagined, being alone day in and day out is not easy. Thinking of him (currently in another country 14 hours ahead of me) all the time. Wishing I could talk to him. He's a busy soldier. I'm alone.

Seeing you walk into that lobby more than 30 years ago made my hear leap. I didn’t know it then but now I know, you were the man that would be my protector and love of my life. Now that you are facing one of the worst challenges of your life, I will always and forever be by your side. I love you today more than I loved you when I said “I do”.

My husband and I were told that our love story was the most unique and incredible love story ever lived and it needed to be made into a book. Our story starts in 1991 when we first met in our early teens. We are living proof that kindred spirits truly exist. Let me ask you, do you think a person can fall in love with twins? Well I did. My story is very complex, sad at times, and it answers many questions people have about love. I always believed Mr Nickolas Sparks was meant to write our love story and I believe it even more now that my husband and I have been stationed in his home town.

Just when I thought my chance for love was over, I met the man of my dreams. I had been married 4 times, never for love. At the age of 66, I found love at last. We have so many ways we are alike and yet so many ways we are different. I've never met a man so compassionate, kind, and loving. He's my everything. He puts up with all my little quirky ways and never fails to show me how special I am to him in every way, every day. I know we probably won't have a lot of years left together since we both are in bad health, but I know he'll make every one of them special and I will feel loved always.

I spent 7 years of my life in love with my best friend. In our small southern town where I was his dispatcher and he was my favorite officer. We found love in the most hopeless of circumstances and embarked on a journey that would alter my life completely. Every borrowed moment we had was spent with each other and the way I loved that man I will never love another. There are places on my heart that he touched that no one will ever know and there was a fire that he lit for me that will never go out. The way he changed me saved my life and for that I’ll forever be thankful.

I want to thank Nicholas Sparks and Every Breath to letting me find out about Kindred Spirit mailbox. It's just some romantic notion that I instantly fell in love with and for that reason my husband my son and I are spending Christmas on Bird Island so I can visit the Kindred Spirit Mailbox. I love love.....and all of Nicholas Sparks books!. I'm a hopeless romantic that lives for these moments of spontaneity and gestures of love and everlasting love of life. I truly believe we should live day by day and enjoy every day we have on this earth. I can't wait for this Christmas!!!

You were my best friend, my love, my husband. The joy that consumed me when my child arrived, I looked into her eyes and the live for her was supernatural. You meant so little to me now that I have her. I put you to the side. Every little thing annoyed me that you said, did,or didn't do. It wasn't your and I see that now. She is getting older, you are getting back to your old self and I am seeing you again. Our love is being renewed and I am thankful for that. A year ago, I thought we were doomed in our future together. You were purposely hurtful but your inner self came back to me. Love.

She had been with our family for over thirteen years and gave us her son who is still with us. She was kind and loving and mellow and when she looked at me with her big brown eyes, love shown through. She'd stare into my eyes and I knew that she knew I loved her back. When it was her time to go I brushed her hair and listened to music from the movie Out of Africa to calm and soothe her. When her eyes closed for the last time and she exhaled her last breath, my heart broke. She was our chocolate labrador retriever and I miss her so much.

In a few days it will be 2 months since I lost my little sister, 21 years old, to cancer. I keep thinking over and over why this was Gods plan and what was the point of taking her so young...I have yet to understand it. One thing I’m grateful for is the things she got to experience in life. She got to experience more in life then older adults get to experience and for that I’m grateful. She got to sightsee many states & countries and she got married to the love of her life. As the holidays loon though I can’t help but be sad that she won’t be with us. She is dearly missed by everyone!

I was new to Telluride and recently suffered a heartbreak. It was your genuine kindness in passing and your humor that drew me to you. You had a way of making me smile. You also seemed to have that same look in your eyes that I recognized in the mirror. It was a look of someone who was afraid to love again. Although I was never brave enough to even ask you out for coffee, I just want you to know that I looked forward to crossing paths with you. I hope we meet again or that this letter makes it to you so you can know that your existence renewed my faith and I adored you. -M

Once again you knocked it out of the park,i have read every book that you have wrote,i experience every emotion when i read your books,i read a lot of different author's but they do not come anywhere close to my heart that your book's do.My sister's,daughters,nieces and friends have our own book club we all feel the same after reading your book's.Our emotions are all over the place and no one can say enough about them,We can hardly wait for the next one,I always reserve your book's,Great work and thank you so much for all the memories,God blessed you with a wonderful talent.

At 10 you said I was your girlfriend. You became my best friend. The day we first kissed I walked home on cloud 9. I fell in love with you and it was like nothing I ever felt before. What we had was forbidden but I didn’t care I had to have you. We became parents at age 16 and our lives forever intertwined. We married young and life was tough but I knew I always wanted you no matter what. 7 children and 29 years later it’s still you. I look into our future and I always see us together. We have overcome the unthinkable and our love has survived. It will always be you.

you have inspired me to start writing my own books. i haven't been as successful finishing many, but at least i try, right? anyway, i look forward to reading every breath. i haven't been able to afford to get one of the books yet, but that's ok. you are an amazing writer. don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise. by reading your books i have learned a lot of new things. so, thank you for inspiring the writer in me. This year has been very difficult for my family. My Husband's Dad passed away in Feb, our furbaby Peaches passed in June, then my husband's cousin just passed this month. We have been thrown in a whirlwind of lose, as soon as we have our footing back, something else happens. Through all this we have grown closer, have been given such strength from Father God, & cried many healing tears. We have also been blessed, we received Caroline & Oki in June, it seems, Peaches sent them too us, & slowly We started looking at what we have not what we have lost, & are now healing slowly. Love never dies! D

It’s been 8 years since you have spoke to me. I want you to know that I miss you everyday and love you with all my heart. I pray everyday that your safe and happy and that one day you will find it in your heart to reach out to me and try and have a relationship again. please know I never meant to hurt you. It is the Holiday season and have always been told that miracles can happen. So I am wishing for my Christmas miracle. Love and miss you! Mom
