Alex Littlefield, Executive Editor
Alex Littlefield is Executive Editor at Little, Brown, which he joined in 2022 after sixteen years in the editorial departments of HarperCollins’s Mariner Books imprint (formerly Houghton Mifflin Harcourt), Basic Books, and Grove/Atlantic. His focus is serious nonfiction, primarily in the categories of history, biography, politics, and current affairs; his list also includes investigative journalism and narrative nonfiction, as well as select science, music, memoir, and true crime. He is on the lookout for authors with fresh perspectives and deep expertise in their subject areas, and for books with an edge and with a mission: well-crafted stories braided with bold arguments and big ideas. He has worked with Harvard Kennedy School founding dean Graham Allison, Nobel Prize–winning biochemist Jennifer Doudna, U.S. Congressman Jim Clyburn, Grammy Award–winning music writer Peter Guralnick, and pioneering neuroscientist Lisa Feldman Barrett, along with a range of New York Times bestselling authors including Fiona Hill, Marie Yovanovitch, Peter Strzok, Neal Katyal, Eric Lichtblau, Maureen Callahan, James Risen, Wesley Lowery, Jeff Goodell, Adam Hochschild, Mike Duncan, Rutger Bregman, Avi Loeb, Eric Schmidt, Steve Strogatz, and Randall Munroe.
