Hachette Audio

Hachette Audio is publisher of a variety of popular genres in audio form, matching HBG material with talented actors, composers, and producers to find its fullest expression. Our audiobooks, available on CD and as digital downloads, are primarily based on unabridged material published in print and as ebooks by Grand Central Publishing, Little, Brown & Company, FaithWords, Center Street, Orbit, and Little, Brown for Young Readers. We are delighted to bring the audiobook format to a larger and larger audience and to collaborate with an ever-growing cast of authors, agents, editors, and sister companies around the world. Hyperion Audio was recently acquired by Hachette Audio, and Gildan Audio is a distribution client. Throughout our publishing process, from preproduction all the way through marketing and sales, we maintain a boutique style and nurture long-term relationships with our authors. Each title is unique and produced with individual care.

Great storytelling is the heart of our business, and Hachette Audio is proud to publish so many of the world’s best-loved storytellers. Our dedicated production staff brilliantly interprets all types of fiction, including an all-star lineup of mysteries and thrillers. Compelling nonfiction always starts with a distinctive voice—at Hachette Audio, many of our nonfiction authors narrate their own books, either at our state of the art studio in-house or at other top quality facilities around the world. We also know how to roll out the red carpet for A-list celebrity productions—our narrators include some of the brightest names in movies, television, and on Broadway, as well as many of the most acclaimed voice-over artists.

Over the last fifteen years, over 170 of our titles were named Audie Award finalists, with thirty-five taking top honors, including three consecutive Audiobook of the Year winners. AudioFile Magazine has honored Hachette with nearly a hundred Earphones Awards, while Publishers Weekly has presented our titles with more than fifty Listen Up! Awards, with forty named in just the last five years (along with more than forty starred reviews in that same half decade). We swept the Spoken Word Grammy Awards in 2011, picking up the prize in both the children’s and adult categories. In total, eighteen Hachette Audio titles have been nominated—and six have won—Grammys since 2000. Our productions are highly lauded and the award count keeps climbing.

Some of Hachette Audio’s most popular audiobooks come from authors James Patterson, Joel Osteen, Malcolm Gladwell, David Baldacci, JK Rowling, Lemony Snicket, Emma Donoghue, Michael Connelly, David Sedaris, Anita Shreve, Nicholas Sparks, Maria Semple, Preston & Child, David Foster Wallace, Nelson DeMille, Elin Hilderbrand, Brad Meltzer, Joyce Meyer, and Scott Turow.
