Being eleven-year-old Wyatt the Worrier means always being prepared. Wyatt has researched all the most obscure ways people can die in the great outdoors, like death by bison or goose. Still, research can’t prepare him for life at the Very-Very-Last-Chance Ranch, an off-the-grid animal sanctuary in the mountains of Montana. Wyatt struggles in this strange new home, especially when his perfectly outdoorsy soon-to-be stepbrother shows him up at every turn.

Then Wyatt meets Goldie, a lonely wolf cub with an injured leg. To help Goldie safely return to her pack, Wyatt embarks on a risky adventure in the woods, filled with awe-inspiring encounters with wild animals. Far from home, Wyatt the Worrier realizes there might be a little bit of wildness in him, after all.

Wyatt the Wild illuminates complicated family relationships, a deep connection between a wolf and a boy, and the healing power of epic wilderness.
