Heather Fain is Senior Vice President, Director of Marketing Strategy for the Hachette Book Group. In this role, she oversees the company’s consumer marketing including advertising and social media outreach and works across the divisions to provide marketing infrastructure to help ensure that our books are reaching the widest possible audiences. She works closely with all the publishers as well as IT to bring innovation to our marketing programs.
A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Heather began her career in the publicity department at Warner Books in 1996 and also worked in the publicity department at Henry Holt before joining Little, Brown and Company in 2001. At Little, Brown, she held a variety of positions including director of publicity, marketing director, and deputy publisher. Throughout her career, she has worked on the publicity and marketing campaigns for a wide range of authors including Michael Connelly, John Feinstein, Tina Fey, Malcolm Gladwell, Dr. Mark Hyman, Dr. David Perlmutter, Keith Richards, Stacy Schiff, Alice Sebold, David Sedaris, Anita Shreve, Donna Tartt, Dr. Andrew Weil, and Malala Yousafzai. She has twice been named one of Advertising Age’s Entertainment Marketer of the Year (2003 and 2005). She lives with her husband and daughter in New York City.
