Chris Murphy is Senior Vice President, Group Sales Director and member of the EMB at HBG. Prior to that Chris was SVP Retail Sales; VP of National Accounts and VP of the Diversified Imprint Group.
Chris started his trade bookselling career at Barron’s Educational Series in the late 1980’s He originally joined Time Warner in 1990 as Marketing Manager for Warner Juvenile Books and held various jobs in marketing and sales until moving to Hyperion in 1995 as Sales Director.
He moved to Scholastic as Sales Director in1998 where he worked for seven years before Returning to HBG in 2004.
Chris graduated from St. Bonaventure University where he met his wife Laurie. They have four children and reside in Melville, Long Island.
