Here’s a Father’s Day idea: buy your dad a book about misbehaving rich people.
It might sound limiting, but how much of world history is not about this topic? Most of Shakespeare, Austen, and Tolstoy are about this. 2018 has also been a big year for misbehaving rich people. I promise there is a book for your dad in this category.
The rich people can be pro athletes—we have that. Or they might be investment bankers; on average, they usually are. But the investment bankers in this story are mad at each other. They yell and trade insults and spend billions of dollars getting a tiny edge and it’s fun. What about billionaires in space? We have billionaires in space. They shoot their personal rockets at the sky, just in case.
I am going to spare you jokes about the most misbehaving rich person. Instead, here’s The Good News About Bad Behavior: it’s a teaching moment. And if you handle it just right, it will get better. If not, there’s always Mars.
