Dear Fellow Textile and Fiber Arts Enthusiast,
I’m a Los Angeles-based writer and the author of the new book The Fabric of Civilization: How Textiles Made the World, published November 10, 2020 by Basic Books. I’m also the programming co-chair for the Southern California Handweavers’ Guild. So I know first-hand how challenging it can be to offer fun and stimulating programs when you can’t hold your normal in-person gatherings or workshops.
I would like to offer myself as an online speaker for your group. There will be no charge other than the opportunity to encourage your members to purchase the book. I am available from 8 a.m. Pacific Time (11 a.m. Eastern Time) any day of the week. Since my time is limited, I do require that you anticipate at least 30 guests and purchase at least two copies of the book in advance. If your group is small, I’m happy to try to arrange joint meetings.
