In the "Postcards From Buster" TV show, an animation and live action show that launches on PBS in Fall 2004, fans of the Arthur series have the opportunity to travel along with Buster as he visits different locales around the country and meets kids and families from various socio-economic, ethnic, cultural and geographic backgrounds, as well as kids with disabilities. By providing a snapshot of different families' food, games, and holidays, as well as other aspects of their culture, this is a show that will help children gain an appreciation for America's rich cultural diversity.
A companion to the TV show, Buster Plays Along is a level three reader about Buster's adventures when he and his dad travel to San Antonio for the International Accordion Festival. Buster visits the Alamo, samples a guacomole and bean taco, and is inspired by his new friend Robert to practice his accordion. He just hopes that one of these days, he will be able to play without hurting his friends' ears!
