Freaks and Revelations is one of the most interesting and complex novels that I have read in a long time. The characters jumped off the page (sometimes in a frightening, terrifying way) but they seemed absolutely real. The emotion Hurwin managed to convey was extremely raw and realistic, which is often rare in young adult books. . . I absolutely enjoyed this book, and although it may not be for everyone, it is a gripping story, with intense characters, and real life emotion. Definitely two thumbs up.
