Ash brilliantly recreates the story of Cinderella in an elaborate world where nothing is simply predictable. This is a 2009 debut that you will not want to miss. 10 out of 10.

Everything was realistic, even though it was a fantasy. It's the kind of book I wish there were more of in the world - powerful and artfully written. It was a Cinderella retelling but not obviously - it had a wonderful twist, and I can honestly say I love this book a ridiculous amount, and will be recommending it to all of my friends.

In Ash, Lo creates a fantasy world filled with innocence, magic, and love. It's a book you won't ever want to put down. Lo weaves a tale with the basic underlying plot of Cinderella but she puts her own spin on it. You think you know how it will turn out, because everyone knows the original story, but this one sneaks up on you and you don't even realize it. Definitely glad to add this one to my library, a book I will read many times over.
