Maja Thomas, Senior Vice President, Hachette Digital
Maja Thomas is Senior Vice President, Hachette Digital for Hachette Book Group. She leads Hachette Digital and works across divisions on digital strategy, investment, and the pursuit of new digital publishing businesses. She has been the co-chair of the Digital Working Group at the Association of American Publishers, chair of Hachette Livre’s International Board for Digital Issues, and Vice President of the Audio Publisher’s Association.

Since joining the company in 1991, Maja has served as an audio director and producer, Director of Production, and as Editor at Large, editing the New York Times bestseller, Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim by David Sedaris. She became Publisher, Audiobooks in 2000, and has had the pleasure of working with many celebrated writers and actors, including Madeleine Albright, David Foster Wallace, Julie Andrews, and Oprah Winfrey.
Under her direction the audio department has been nominated for sixteen Grammy awards, taking home trophies for Best Spoken Word Album for The Autobiography of Martin Luther King, Jr., The Daily Show with Jon Stewart Presents AMERICA and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart Presents EARTH, In This Life Together. In 2011 Hachette Audio also won in the category Best Spoken Word Album for Children, with Julie Andrews Collection of Poems, Songs, and Lullabies.

Neil DeYoung, Executive Director, Hachette Digital
Neil DeYoung is responsible for managing the e-book program at large for Hachette Digital; overseeing the account management of the digital supply chain, developing enriched content, reviewing new business opportunities, and coordinating digital strategy. He is a member of the IDPF (International Digital Publisher’s Forum) and AAP (Association of American Publishers) Digital Issues Working Group. Neil is a guest lecturer at Hofstra University, NYU, and Yale’s Summer Publishing Institute. His past experience includes application management, including: system design and upgrades and user support management as well as physical sales and Internet Marketing at Scholastic and Hyperion.
