• Think about your day. What happened? Did anything funny happen? Did you have your friends over after school? Did you study for a really hard math test? Recap your day in your diary. Remember to include your feelings about the events that occurred.
  • Don’t worry about what you are writing. Just write whatever comes to your mind. Your diary is for your eyes only.
  • Keep your diary in a safe place where nobody will find it. This way, your thoughts remain private from your big brother or sister.
  • Use your favorite pencil, pen, magic marker. It doesn’t matter. Just write!
  • Where do you like to write? Pick a place where you are able to think freely. This might be your bedroom, kitchen, or even the bus ride on the way home from school.
  • Pick a time a day where you will be able to jot down everything that you would like to write. This could be in the morning over breakfast, your lunch break at school, or before you go to bed at night.
  • Rumblewick includes drawings in his diary. Do you like to draw? Your diary may just be the perfect place to perfect your sketches!
  • Make lists of your favorite (and not so favorite) things.
  • Do you like poetry or songwriting? Get your ideas on paper in your diary.
  • No thought is a bad thought. Your diary is a place for you to express yourself and your feelings. Sit back, grab a pen, and have FUN!
