Lilli Feisty’s Top 10 Erotic Books
Lilli Feisty’s Top Ten Erotic Books
When I was asked to make up a list of my top ten erotic books, I knew it was going to be a challenge. There are so many wonderful erotic books out there—how to choose just ten? Well, I cheated a little bit by adding in the entire Demonica series by Larissa Ione, but I did manage to narrow it down by making it a list of my CURRRENT favorites.
And so I present, in no particular order, Lilli Feisty’s Top Ten Erotic Books!
1) Embrace the Night by Crystal Jordan
They’re the Magickal ones…vampires, werewolves, witches, and fae who dwell among humans, united by extraordinary talents and unbridled sexual powers…
I love Crystal’s books, and she’s just an awesome gal. Wicked smart, she’s also funny as hell, and one of my favorite authors. I love all her books, but this might be my favorite of hers. So hard to choose! I never liked shape-shifter books until I read hers, and now I’m writing a book with a werewolf hero! This is how she described the book to me (Sshh, don’t tell her I told you!)
“Embrace the Night, which is basically erotic urban fantasy, has got witches, warlocks, elves, fae, vamps, and werewolves. Wolf terrorists out to take over the world. And dirty sex.”
She wasn't kidding. Oh, and it's also awesome writing and a wonderful story. That's why it's in my top ten list. http://www.crystaljordan.com/books/embrace-the-night/
2) Lessons in Indiscretion by Karen Erickson
First off, I need to say that Karen is just plain cool. She’s one of the first romance authors I met when I started writing. We used to do silly things like watch Youtube videos simultaneously while instant messaging each other. Well, we rarely have time to do that these days because we’re writing so much. But she will always be one of my favorite people and authors. And sometimes we still manage to do a Youtube duet...
Widowed Lady Julia Renwick is still young enough to crave a man’s touch; but she’s too old to think that the Earl of Bedingfield could see her as anything more than a family friend. Garrett Walker is handsome, charming and only 26 years old—the perfect catch for any one of this year’s debutantes.
Garrett has no interest in the maidens vying for his attentions. He wants only Julia. With just two weeks left in the season, he makes a bold move by asking her to dance. When she counters with a shocking request of her own, Garrett eagerly agrees.
Soon, they are stealing away for passionate encounters at every society event they attend. Garrett introduces Julia to excitements she never knew existed, and her newfound confidence quickly attracts other eligible men. It’s not long before Garrett realizes he must find a way to keep the lady all to himself… http://karenwritesromance.com/books/lessons-in-indiscretion
3) Bound by Sasha White
This was one of the first Erotic Romance novels published, and the first one I read. It was hot, the characters were amazing, and the story grabbed me right away.
Before I published my first novella, I went to the RWA conference in Atlanta. I was at a workshop, and I realized I was sitting next to Sasha White. OMG! Tripping over my own words, I managed to say hello to this person I idolized. She was super cool and said hi back to me! Fast forward six years and she’s still on my top ten list. We actually have some ideas in the works for a joint project. Watch out world!
Bound by fantasy
Everyone thinks small town Katie Long is the good girl looking for tender romance. All she needs is to find the right man. Katie couldn’t agree more.
She too has always fantasized about the “right man.” But what she’s looking for is one who’ll give her exactly what she wants. And everything she needs.
Bound by desire
Joe Carson is that man. A security guard at a local casino, he’s the answer to her sensual prayers. But there’s more to Joe than even Katie realizes. And more to their nightgames than just master and slave.
Now Katie wonders just how far she’ll go with a man who’s more than ready to take her…http://www.sashawhite.net/bookshelf/bound/
4) Desire’s Edge by Eve Berlin
I met Eve during the same conference where I met Sasha. I hadn’t yet read any of her work, but her first novel from Bantam was just about to be released. We immediately bonded as friends and writers. When I read her first book, The Dark Garden, I was blown away by the beautiful writing, the story, and the pure sensuality that flows through all of Eve’s work. She took me under her wing, and we became critique partners for several years. I love all of her books but right now my favorite book of hers is Desire’s Edge.
As a lawyer, Kara Crawford knows how to keep a secret, especially after being spurned by an ex for revealing her sexual needs. Kara doesn’t expect to find anyone who can fulfill her more extreme desires—bondage and spanking–until she experiences one of the most incredible nights of her life with a man she’s always admired from afar.
Sexual dominant Dante De Matteo knew Kara back in high school, and he never imagined her darkest fantasies would align so perfectly with his. The lovers don’t expect their passion to last more than a night, but when Dante’s new job turns out to be at Kara’s law firm, they find themselves confronted daily with the sparks of their blistering chemistry.
5) Going Down by Shelli Stevens
Shelli’s writing has always grabbed me. She writes funny-sexy, which is actually one of the most challenging aspects of writing. In my opinion, you either naturally write believable comedy or you don’t. It’s something that can’t be forced and is hard to nail. Well, Shelli is really funny in real life so it’s not surprising that trait comes out in her writing. Her books remind me of traditional romantic comedies, like When Harry Met Sally, only with stories where the sex drives the plot and sometimes the characters shape-shift. Or they’re in the future. Hey, the girls got talent!
Right now I’m all about Going Down. No pun intended.
Eleanor Owen needs to get out of Chicago and quick. It’s not that she doesn’t want to obey the subpoena to testify against her drug-trafficking ex-boyfriend. It’s making it to the witness stand alive, should a dirty cop make good on his threats.
Tiny, remote Wyattsville, Oregon looks like the perfect place to disappear, but it’s hard to blend into the woodwork when one of the town’s infamous namesakes sends her heart racing. Worse, Mr. Tall, Hot and Packing is the town sheriff, which means she should stay as far away from him as possible.
Tyson Wyatt is positive the sexy new girl in town is hiding something. Question is, what? He vows to feel out her secrets—including what she feels like beneath him. Preferably naked. Until then, he’s not buying the story she’s selling.
Their chemistry is sheet-melting hot, and Ellie realizes much too late that the man with the badge is as dangerous to her heart as her ex is to her life…http://www.shellistevens.com/my-books/going-down/
6) Lofting by Alma Marceau
This was the first erotica book I read, and it changed the way I thought about sexuality and inspired me to start writing about sex. Alma Marceau was an idol of mine so imagine how excited I was when I actually got to interview the author! You can read the interview here: http://www.smutketeers.com/2011/01/28/get-smutty-with-alma-marceau/
Lofting, a new novel by bestselling author Alma Marceau, is the record of a perceptive and intrepid sensualist, one woman's exploration of the thematic catalogue of fin de siecle eroticism. Rendered in compellingly elaborate detail, its scenes of debauch will delight aficionados of exhibitionism, voyeurism, bisexuality, bondage, flogging and other national pastimes. 7) Never Enough by Lauren Dane
Another on of my long-term favorite erotic authors, Lauren Dane is also incredibly smart and prolific, so picking a favorite was difficult! However she really outdid herself with Never Enough. And it’s about a rock star, and if you’ve read my book Bound to Please, you know I have a thing for musicians. Wow!
Gillian Forrester spent most of her life running from who and what she came from. Until Miles came along. From the moment she held the tiny newborn her older sister didn’t want, Gillian stopped running and began to build a life for herself and her adopted son. Now, thirteen years later, as Gillian’s sister lay dying, she reveals the father’s identity and makes Gillian promise to find him.
Adrian Brown is the epitome of the successful rock star. He’s seen and done it all, with few regrets. It takes a lot to shock him—but the bombshell that he has a thirteen-year-old son rocks his world. And Adrian is even more surprised when the buttoned-up, elegant woman who’s raising Miles snags his erotic and romantic attention.
The last thing Gillian expected was to find herself getting hot and heavy with a person like Adrian. But as much as she wants to open up and give herself fully to this amazing man, she’s afraid the secrets of her past and Adrian’s problems with trusting people may keep them apart for good. If love isn’t enough can they find the trust they need? http://www.laurendane.com/books/brown-siblings/never-enough/
8) Broken by Megan Hart
This book moved me. It inspired me to read everything Ms. Hart has ever written. She writes beautiful, realistic stories that are also incredibly hot. All of her stories are unique and emotional and real. Kind of like Megan herself. I met Megan many years ago at the Romantic Times Convention in Dallas. Again, I was a bit star-struck. But then we were all getting ready to go to a costume ball, and she was sucked into my magic box. Okay, that sounded weird. What I mean is, I brought a huge box of costumes to that conference and dressed several people. The box was quickly named Feisty’s Magic Box. I still have it, and it is still magical. Anyway, I love this book.
This month, my name is Mary.
My name is different every month — Brandy, Honey, Amy…sometimes Joe doesn’t even bother to ask — but he never fails to arouse me with his body, his mouth, his touch, no matter what I’m called or where he picks me up. The sex is always amazing, always leaves me itching for more in those long weeks until I see him again.
My real name is Sadie, and once a month over lunch, Joe tells me about his latest conquest. But what Joe doesn’t know is that, in my mind, I’m the star of every X-Rated one-night stand he has revealed to me, or that I’m practically obsessed with our imaginary sex life.
I know it’s wrong. I know my husband wouldn’t understand. But I can’t stop.
Not yet. http://www.meganhart.com/novels/erotic/broken/
9) Possess Me by R.G. Alexander
I had the amazing experience of being next to R.G. when she got The Call: she’d made her first book sale! I can’t describe how thrilling it was to see the look on her face when she got the news. Tears were spilled. Drinks were consumed. Thrills were to be had. It was during the Magic Box convention, and boy did we celebrate. Since then, she’s been writing her little fingers off and has impressed thousands of people with her talent, imagination, and, well, kinkiness. This woman has quite an imagination.
Anyway, she has thousands of readers searching for a Bone Daddy. That’s talent! My favorite book of R.G.’s is Possess Me. A clever anthology of three stories, Bone Daddy, throughout most of the anthology, is a sexual Loa—a kinky voodoo spirit. Yeah, I’ll take one of those please.
In the Big Easy, there's a legend women long for: a sexual voodoo spirit who can fulfill their darkest fantasies. And in these three steaming-hot novellas, he helps three New Orleans couples achieve the ultimate satisfaction...
In Release Me, Allegra heads down to New Orleans to heal her wounds, but she never expects to lose her heart to such a quiet, troubled man as Rousseau. She's even less prepared for the scorching, sexual spirit within him-and what he can do to her...
In Reclaim Me, Ben has loved Michelle as long as he can remember. But his beautiful artist has a way of running away from life-and what the pair could be. Leave it to the infamous spirit to help Ben prove to Michelle where she belongs: in his embrace...
In Redeem Me, it's All Saints' Day, the one day the voodoo spirit can walk the world in the flesh. When he bumps into Bethany, she might just be the reincarnation of a girl he once loved. Passion ignites, but can the couple overcome past mistakes and have a real chance at love? http://www.rgalexander.com/books/#possess
10)The Demonica Series by Larissa Ione
Oh. My. God. I simply can’t choose just one of these books; I love them all. Larissa started off writing erotica so these books are really hot and definite page-turners. I’m always eagerly awaiting the next book. And the idea is so clever—Larissa is simply amazing. I mean, just read the idea for the series. How can I pick one book? I can’t even pick one hero. I want them all!
Humans go to hospitals. Animals go to veterinarians. But where do injured, ill, and decapitated demons go? It isn't as if every supernatural being possesses the ability to grow a new limb to replace one that's been hacked off by a demon slayer scumbag. Fear not, fellow vamps, werewolves, and demons, for help has arrived. Three brothers, incubus demons by birth, human in appearance (mostly), have pulled together to make the most of the healing skills common to their species. Welcome to Underworld General Hospital, where sexy demons are doctors, HMOs are non-existent, and the blood bank sometimes doubles as the cafeteria. And you don't even want to know what goes on in the supply closets… http://larissaione.com/blog/books/demonica/
So there you have it. My ten favorites. I might just have to go off and pick one of these keepers off my shelf and re-read it tonight!
Hugs,
Lilli Feisty
