To get the feel of Max, I took my favorite sword to the beach where I used it to do my kung fu form.  Yes, all the passersbys looked weirded out.

I watched Pride and Prejudice (the Keira Knightly version) five times as I wrote Chosen by Desire.  Each time, I thought it was a shame Darcy didn't have a sword.

Originally, the first part of the book was set in Shanghai. 

I used the lower belts in my kung fu class as dummies sparring partners to choreograph the fight scenes.

The playlist for Chosen by Desire included Damien Rice, Seether, Tori Amos, and Nickelback.  With some Fall Out Boy thrown in.

Carrie's stunt on the silk scarf was inspired by my sister's recent obsession with aerial dancing.  My sister, however, is much more graceful than Carrie.
