Five Fun Facts

1. When I first started college, I went in without an idea about what I wanted to do, but I’d always had an interest in archaeology, so I took a lot of archaeology and anthropology courses.  Though I never followed through, my fascination with ancient history – and in particular, Egypt – never faded, and I knew that, someday in a story, I would somehow indulge those interests.  I got that chance in Passion Unleashed, with a heroine who loves the hunt archaeology brings, as well as the exotic lands she gets to visit.

2. I rarely give characters “pieces of me,” but in Passion Unleashed, Wraith and Serena share my appreciation for a good whiskey, straight up.

3.  When I first began to develop the Demonica world, I knew I was going to be introducing a lot of very unique and strange creatures, so I kept more common ones, like vampires, fairly true to familiar mythology.  Demonica vampires are vulnerable to fire, holy water, and stakes, for example, and werewolves have issues with silver.  When you mix up the different species, though, anything can happen!

4. A lot of research went into the writing of Passion Unleashed, and I ran into a several roadblocks when it came to internet research.  Just when I was starting to think I’d never find all the little details I was looking for, I met a new neighbor while he was walking his dog.  Turned out that he had been on the very train in the very country I was trying to learn more about.  Fate is a funny thing…

5. Passion Unleashed is full of fun extras!  In the back of the book, you’ll find a special section that contains detailed information on the world, the demons, and the characters, as well as a special short story that tells the story of how Eidolon, Shade, Roag, and Wraith met.  You don’t want to miss it!
