Mary Simses

Mary Simses grew up in Connecticut and spent much of her life in the Northeast, where she attended college and law school. She began writing short stories as a child and was encouraged to write by her teachers. Although she loved creative writing, Mary chose to pursue the more practical paths of journalism and, later, law as careers. While working as a corporate attorney, however, she decided to enroll in an evening fiction writing class at a local university and quickly found that she was hooked again. Her short stories have appeared in a number of literary journals. Mary now lives in South Florida with her husband/law partner and their daughter. She loves taking photographs and listening to old jazz tunes. She also makes a fine blueberry muffin.
