Author Essay

In a topsy turvy financial world that resembles the Great Depression, people are at a loss as to what to do with their finances.  Some have lost jobs, some have seen their pensions cut in half, and some have had their houses foreclosed.  So what do we do?

I have been giving financial advice on The 700 Club for several years on a program we call “Money Monday.”  Hachette publishing heard my comments about real estate and asked me to write a book concerning finance.  From that request has come Right On The Money, a book that is a practical encyclopedia of personal financial management, budgeting, savings, investing, and practical tips about how to maximize your resources.  There is also a section on how to be an entrepreneur and how to start your own corporation, as well as two important clues that will enable a person to have financial success.

Right On The Money is not written in financial terms for Wall Street, but in simple language that the average person can understand with principles each one can grasp.  Right On The Money can serve as a reference library to help the reader work his or her way through the complexities of day-to-day financial management, estate planning, home buying, purchasing of stocks and bonds, insurance, and the financial relationship between husbands and wives.

As an aside, I currently manage three stock portfolios with results which, before 2008, put me in the top 1% of fund managers.  I have been chairman of a successful public company, have supervised the building of over one million square feet of real estate, and have started several corporations in a broad range of business endeavors.  Through the years, I have learned quite a few things through exciting successes and heart-rending failures.  I hope the lessons gleaned from fifty years of experience can assist the reader of Right On The Money in these difficult days.
