Your Faith Is What Will Help You Triumph

This very day you may be face to face with a critical problem, and perhaps you are tempted to yield and throw in the towel. But you are not going to be de¬feated. You will overcome your present difficulties…as long as you don’t quit!

At one time, I was tempted to give up on a goal, which potentially could help millions of people. I experienced months and months of opposition and I wondered if this was where God wanted me. “Maybe I should recede?” I questioned myself.

Searching for an answer, I was led to seek advice from a wise woman with whom I was acquainted. Now in her 80s, I have known her for years and respect her opinion.

We made plans for an early afternoon tea and as I strolled up her cobblestone walkway, her sweet home and manicured landscape reminded me of a Norman Rockwell painting.

She welcomed me with a warm embrace and said kindly, “Sit down, dear and tell me what is troubling you.”

Sitting comfortably in a soft brown chair, I took a deep breath and proceeded to explain to her my dilemma. “Should I continue?” “Do I have the strength to carry on?” and “Is this God’s will for me?” I asked.

And, “Something is hindering my progress,” I exclaimed.

She listened with an understanding, sympathetic ear. Then, without saying a word, she stood up and disappeared into the next room. A minute later, she returned holding something in her hand.

“Catherine, my dear one,” she tenderly uttered, “I know what is holding you back.”

With a look of surprise, I inquired, “You do?”
“Yes,” she said knowingly.
After that, she handed me a shiny silver compact.

“What’s this?” I asked, reaching out my hand to clutch it. I held the pocket-sized compact in my hand for a moment, a bit confused.
“Open it,” she urged.

With a puzzled look on my face, I did as she requested and I gingerly opened the compact. All I saw was my reflection in the mirror.

“Look closer,” she encouraged.

Neither one of us said a word, there was complete silence. But my heart and soul were touched with pure understanding.

In the round mirrored compact, I saw the reflection of myself.

The wise woman stated, “There’s just one person who is holding you back from being what God created you to be… and that is you!”

Astonished, I was stunned to silence, as she continued, “Your situation will change when you change, so don’t think you can’t… because, dear, you can! All things are possible when you have faith in God, persist for the good of others and believe in yourself,” she said.

I will always remember that day, for as I released my burdens to God, asked Him for strength, and trusted Him completely, the transformation process began. And, soon, as I kept pressing onward, those stumbling blocks phenomenally turned into stepping-stones and the idea for my new book; God Will Do The Rest was born.

Remember… there is only one person holding you back… and that is yourself! Go forward and create your own success. Nothing can stop you now.
